Games are on Sundays, and all three divisions play back to back at the same ground. That single fact shapes the whole day: your child plays for about an hour, but the club is on the field from mid-morning until the middle of the afternoon.
Here is how a Sunday runs, so the first one does not come as a surprise.
The three kickoffs
Every game day is the same shape, home or away. Three teams, three kickoffs, one ground.
| Division | Kickoff | Weigh-in opens |
|---|---|---|
| Mites | 10:00 AM | 9:30 AM |
| Midgets | 11:30 AM | 11:00 AM |
| Pee Wees | 1:00 PM | 12:30 PM |
Weigh-in is 30 minutes before your own team’s kickoff, not 30 minutes before the first game of the day. It is the single most common thing families get wrong on their first Sunday.
The order does not change through the season, so once you know your division you know your Sunday. The full fixture list, with venues and directions for each date, is on the events page.
Arriving
Weigh-in opens 30 minutes before your kickoff, so plan to be parked and with your team before then rather than at the kickoff time itself.
Home games are split between the club’s two grounds:
- Monomoy Regional High School, 75 Oak St, Harwich
- Nauset Regional High School, 100 Cable Rd, Eastham
Which ground a given Sunday falls on is on the fixture for that date, along with directions to it.
Away games
Away fixtures work the same way, with the same three kickoffs. What changes is travel: some of the away grounds are off-Cape, and the Rockland trip is the longest of the season. Travel arrangements are made team by team — your coach will tell you whether you are meeting at the ground or leaving together, so ask that week rather than assuming.
Weigh-in
Weigh-in happens before every game, not just at the August handout, and the limits it checks are the league’s rather than the club’s.
Players weigh in wearing their game gear — the division limits include an allowance for the equipment, which is why the figure on the rules page is higher than a bare bodyweight.
Being over a limit does not put a player out of the program. A player over the season maximum for their division may play up instead: a Mite over 128 lbs can play as a Pee Wee, with roster adjustments. The rules and documents page has the league’s own wording, which is the version that counts.
What to bring
The club issues the equipment. Families supply the rest, and it is the same list every week:
- Football cleats
- Mouthpiece
- Athletic supporter and cup — required at every game
- A water bottle, filled
Beyond your child’s kit, bring what a morning outdoors on the Cape asks for between September and November — a chair, something warm, and sunscreen.
Staying for the day
You are not expected to stay for all three games. Plenty of families come for their own and go, and plenty stay: if it is your first season, the game after yours is an easy way to meet the rest of the club.
Practices are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, so Sunday is the only day the whole club is in one place.
If you have not signed up yet, registration is open.
