Common questions

First games for all divisions are on Sunday 13 September. The regular season runs eight Sundays to 1 November, then the playoffs on 8 November and the Super Bowl on 15 November.

Games are played on Sundays. Your team practises three nights a week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

All practice information is subject to change — your coach will confirm your team’s schedule.

Home games are at Monomoy High School and Nauset High School. Away games are in towns throughout the Cape and South Shore.

For the first week of practice: shorts, a tee shirt and football cleats. After that, unless your coach says otherwise, players arrive in full practice uniform — helmet, shoulder pads, practice pants, practice jersey, mouthpiece and cleats.

Players wear full game uniform, including mouthpiece and cleats, to every game. Athletic supporters and cups are required at all practices and games, and every player needs to bring water.

All issued equipment — helmet, shoulder pads, practice and game pants, knee pads, thigh pads and belt — must be returned clean and in good condition at the end of the season. Parents are responsible for replacing anything showing more than normal wear.

Players are placed by age and weight. Direct any questions to the President.

A player’s wishes and talents are taken into account, but coaches make the final call. Football is a team sport, and a coach has to balance every player’s strengths against what the team needs.

Tell your head coach as soon as you know. This matters most on game day — the coach needs enough warning to adjust the game plan around your child’s position.

Games and practices go ahead as scheduled unless the weather is dangerous. Coaches may cut a practice short or wait to see if a storm passes; if there is lightning, play stops immediately.

There is nowhere on site to shelter a whole team, so watch for approaching storms and be ready to collect your player early. Any schedule change is posted to SportsEngine as soon as it is known.
