The shape of a season

From sign-up to banquet

  1. February

    Registration opens

Sign-ups run online through SportsEngine for every division. Registering early helps the board plan rosters, order equipment and confirm field time.

  2. August

    Equipment handout and first practices

Players collect their helmet, shoulder pads and practice kit, then get weighed in. Practices start immediately afterwards — the first week is shorts, tee shirt and cleats.

  3. September – November

    Game season

Ten Sundays against clubs across the Cape and South Shore, with three practices a week in between. Home games alternate between Monomoy and Nauset, and the season closes with the playoffs and the Super Bowl.

  4. End of October

    Banquet and equipment return

The season closes with the end-of-season banquet. All issued equipment comes back clean and in good condition.

During the season

A typical week

Practice nights are usually Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, with games on Sunday. Monday, Thursday and Saturday are normally clear.
